Why Churches Are Still Broke
The Body of Christ should have more abundance in wealth and riches than any other structure
of people on earth. They should be richer that any business corporation or foundation in the world. This
wealth and riches has already been declared ours by God Almighty.
The church has been given the largest assignment in the history of mankind, which is to
preach the gospel in all the world, to feed the poor, to heal the sick and to comfort the broken hearted, and to
build up the poverty stricken places of all the earth. Note the following passages of scripture.
Isaiah 61:1-9, The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath
anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of
vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty
for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees
of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise
up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons
of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call
you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they
shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering;
and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their
offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
We read the same thing in Mark 16:15-18 as Jesus gave the Body of Christ His assignment.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach
the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he
that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name
shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall
not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
In these to portions of scripture, this is an impossible mission with out the wealth to do it. But thank God Almighty,
he has provided a way to get the finances to the church. It has been provided for in the covenant that he established
with Abraham.
Genesis 12:3, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth
be blessed." God will bless anyone that blesses the Body of Christ, but those that will not are under a
curse.
Genesis 28:14, And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east,
and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Galatians 3:29, And if ye
be Christ‘s,
then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
A vital part of this covenant and the way that God has chosen to bless (supply) the Body of Christ is, THE TITHE.
The word tithe means one tenth. This covenant is for all families of the earth. Therefore all families of the
earth have been ordained by God to bring one tenth of all they possess to the Body of Christ to finance the mission that God
has placed on the Body of Christ. Any family that does so will be blessed by God Almighty.
The first reason that poverty still exists in the earth today, including the church, is
because the commandment of the tithe is not being obeyed. Nations, businesses, corporations, and families are to bring
the tenth of all to the Body of Christ.
Why the Body of Christ? Because the Body of Christ is the place where God has chosen to place His Name. This
is where the whole earth is to bring the tithe and show honor to God.
Deuteronomy 26:2, That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring
of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy
God shall choose to place his name there.
But it does not stop with the tithe coming to the church. The each individual church is to take a tithe
of the tithe, in other words, take one tenth of the one tenth that was given them and offer that to the Lord. Each
church should take the first ten percent and give it to where God directs. They should not use the first one tenth to operate their
own ministry. This is their sacrifice. Send it to home office or something, but don't keep it or that churches
finances will be polluted. The church will always have financial problems until that one tenth is released from their
grip by placing it in the hand of God.
Numbers 18: 26 & 28, Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the
children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering
of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.
28 Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the LORD of all your tithes,
which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD’S heave offering to Aaron the priest.
Aaron was the high priest of that day.
We see this taught in the new testament in Hebrews 7:9-10.
Hebrews 7:9 And as I may so
say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of
his father, when Melchisedec met him.
Today Jesus is our high preist after the order of Melchisedec. He is to receive the tithe of Levi, (the church) today
and forever. (Hebrews chapter 7)
The second reason that churches are still broke is because they do not receive the prophetic word
of the modern day prophets concerning finances. These men are not just preaching messages about finances, they
are messengers of wealth that God sends to churches to impart a financial anointing on the churches and the people
in the churches. If the churches do not receive the messages that these men are sent to minister, that church curses
itself with a curse. These men of God will shake the dust of their heels off against that church and move on to
another church in another city.. If the message is received there, then peace rests on that church and finances
begin to flow. Note what Jesus said concerning this in the following scripture. God is not playing games
with this last day message of wealth to fund the Body of Christ to finish the mission.
Mark 6:11, "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake
off the dust under your
feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of
judgment, than for that city."
Every time that God blessed with finances in the old testament he first sent His prophets. The word says that God
does nothing in the earth except He first show it to His prophets. When churches follow the instructions of God's prophets,
they will prosper every time. II Chronicles 20:20 states, :Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be
established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper."
For example, in the church that I attend, there is a man that God sends with the anointing of finances upon him and
every time he comes and preaches, something supernatural happens in my families finances. Once, one of our businesses
was pay off with in just a few months. And we owed quite a sum.
On the other hand, there was a large church that did not receive a certain man and his anointing, shortly afterwards
the church begin dry up a wither away. Today the pastor is not alive and the church does not have the
voice it had in the past.
Now lets look in the book of Acts concerning this. Acts 4:32-5:16.
Here we see that believers were selling their lands, houses (not the houses that they lived in) and their possessions and
bringing the money and laying it at the apostles feet. The money was divided among the people that none
had lack.
There was a couple by the name of Ananias and Sapphia that sold a possession and kept back part of it for themselves,
lying to the HOLY Ghost. As the Apostle Peter, confronted them about their lie to God, they fell dead in his presence.
This caused great fear to come on the church and the apostles, so much that no man would even get close to them,
but would lay their sick folk in the street and as the shadow of the apostles passed by the sick would get healed. The
scripture that God promise Abraham was being fulfilled. All nations of the earth shall fear thee. There was so
much power of God on the Apostles that people were afraid to get close to them else they die too. Sin cannot exist
in the presence of God and these people knew it.
The Apostles were put in prison for preaching in the Name of Jesus, the angels would open the prision doors and send them
back into the temple to continue to preach in the Name of Jesus. They were taken and beaten and commanded
NOT to preach in THAT NAME, but the scripture says in Acts 6:42, that daily in the temple and in every house, they
ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
We read on in Acts 6:1 that as the believers multiplied there rose a murmuring because the daily needs of the people were
not being met. In order to meet those needs the Apostles appointed faithful men over this matter.
Acts 6:2, Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not
reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost
and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of
the word.
Why did the Apostles do this? Was it because they were in pride and did not want to serve tables? God
forbid! In order for the Apostles to keep the power of God on them as it was, they would have to give themselves
continually to the word of God and prayer. Neither could they allow strife to enter in among the people.
This leads us to the third reason that churches are still broke. They
fail to execute the ministry of Helps (I Corinthians 12:28) as the apostiles did among the believers,
leaving pastors to do it all. It is the pastor's responsibility to execute the ministry of helps in his church. He
must set faithful people over the daily administration of the church and stay out of their business so he can give
himself continually to the word of God and prayer.
Acts 33, "And with great power gave the apostles witness of
the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked."
That fear of the Body of Christ and great grace is coming back, just as soon we get
our administrative priorities right and get sin and stinginess out of our hearts . The scriptures must
be fulfilled, All nations shall fear thee, and ye shall eat the riches of the gentiles, before Jesus comes back. He
is coming back for a glorious church, not a sin burdened, broke, stingy church.
